The effects of Palo Santo reach far and wide. It has been described as magical, mysterious, rare, sacred, and unique. This fragrant wood is highly revered by shamans and healers for its spiritual qualities and has been used in sacred rituals and for purification for thousands of years by the indigenous people of South America. It is harvested without causing harm to living trees, coming instead from naturally fallen trees in the forests of Ecuador. Light the stick, let it burn for a few seconds before blowing out the flame. Allow it to smolder, and fan the smoke over your body or other objects you wish to cleanse, including your room, your entire house, or your car. Palo Santo has a light, sweet scent, and most people can feel its positive, purifying effect immediately, even if they are not typically sensitive to energy.
