Altar cloth

These larger cloths are of Shamans in ceremony. It is a craft that takes up to 6 months to weave. From the process of taking from Alpacas wool and colors from nature and then weaving the fabric. In the process, they fill the fabric with love, prayers and praise, linking the energy to the one who will wear the fabric. Each fabric is unique and has a different meaning from the cosmology of the Andes. These fabrics are used in ceremony as altar cloth to hold other medicine tools through ceremony. This fabric is also worn as a cloak, traditionally by the women through ceremony instead of the man's poncho.
