Puma in brass - Puma

The puma is one of the most well-known animals in Andean cosmology and is associated with Kay Pacha – the world we live in here and now.

Kay Pacha is about life on earth, our relationships, our actions and our responsibility for how we live. The puma symbolizes courage, presence, strength and the ability to walk one's path with respect and balance.

This handmade brass figure is created in Peru and fits as a beautiful symbol on an altar, a mesa or in a home where the stories of nature and tradition take place.

Three worlds in Andean cosmology

Together, the snake (Uku Pacha), the puma (Kay Pacha) and the condor (Hanan Pacha) represent the tripartite worldview that recurs in many Andean traditions. Each figure carries its own symbolism, but together they remind us of the balance between the inner world, life on earth and the larger perspective.
